NOTE: This pack of activities may be TOO DIFFICULT for Kindergarten at the beginning of the school year! I advise Kindergarten teachers to wait for a couple of months to begin OR be prepared to do the activities as a group (or provide extra support). Some warm-up activities will be quick, but others will require discussions and extra time to complete.
Please note that 40 TOPICS come with affirmation posters. You will also find over 40 vocabulary cards to support the new growth mindset verbiage your students will learn. I advise teachers to display the vocabulary as it is introduced (on a bulletin board or whiteboard).
INSTRUCTION WILL BE REQUIRED AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH WEEK TO INTRODUCE NEW VOCABULARY AND CONCEPTS. Be prepared to support students each day during the warm-up as well.
This product also includes 40 posters for a bulletin board that explains each topic above (a black-and-white copy of these posters is also included).
A pre-assessment and a post-assessment are also included and sample answers (teacher notes) for each week.
You will also find vocabulary cards to support your student’s new learning.
Please look at this product’s activities to determine how and when to utilize them in your class. Some students or groups can use them as a warm-up, bell ringer, or independent station activity. Other students or groups of students may need more support.
The scaled questions with emojis on many of the Thursday exercises are designed for students to reflect on how they feel about the given topic. Students can share their thoughts with a partner, small group, or the entire class. There are no incorrect answers for these exercises.
At the very end of this product, you will find an OPTIONAL cover page and Table of Contents that you can use IF YOU CHOOSE TO BIND all the activities together for each student at the beginning of the year (or the beginning of the instruction). REMEMBER THAT FRIDAY ACTIVITIES SHOULD NOT BE INCLUDED IN BOUND JOURNALS because many of them require cutting and pasting.

The task cards work wonderfully in literacy centers. They provide quick review and serve to upgrade student’s writing. Environment skill support is essential, and the anchor charts provide the scaffolding needed by many.

I love how there are boy and girl awards for each category, and most of all I love how super easy it was to use! This resource doesn’t take much time to prep. I made copies on color paper, cut, and laminated them so I could store them for future use. Each morning, I share an affirmation that I feel my students can relate to and I have them share their feelings or point of view on the affirmation. I post each day’s affirmation on the wall near the classroom door, and we reference past ones as needed. My goal is to have a wall of affirmations by the end of the school year.
I loved everything in this resource. My fifth graders loved the flipbook. They reflected and practiced self-awareness, which is something we covered in SEL. I did this at the end of the year as a fun activity.

This was the best resource I have found for teaching my students strategies for figuring out unknown words. We completed one of each type of activity in a whole group setting. Then they practiced with a partner before doing their independent practice. My students were highly successful with this resource. Thank you!
My class does Daily Affirmations, and these cards create great conversation starters as well as reminders. They enhance our Growth Mindset board so beautifully and help keep me on track when I start to feel frustrated. Print, laminate a set for your wall, and have kids copy them into a journal. Such a great boost to start the day!
The examples on the cards were awesome. I was able to use the cards in multiple ways (bingo, flashcards, etc). This is an awesome resource.
